Application Procedure:
- Register on the <du digital portal >.
Select your country of residence, complete the required details, and click the “Register” link. - Login to the Global Passport Seva Online Portal using the Login ID created during registration.
- Select the “Type of Service” you wish to apply for.
- Complete the application form by entering the necessary details and submit the form online.
- After submission, click on the “Print Application Form” link to generate a printout of the application, which will include your Application Reference Number (ARN) and other relevant details.
- Submit your application by either:
- Visiting the Embassy in person along with the printed application, applicable fee (payable only in cash), and original documents for verification. For a list of required documents for each service type, click here.
- Sending your application by post. If using the postal service, ensure the fee is paid online (payment details available here) and include proof of payment along with the other required documents in your postal package.
Applications sent through Post or Courier are considered as “Postal Applications.” Applicants opting for this method must follow specific instructions and meet all requirements to ensure successful processing:
- If applying for a passport service via post, you must submit a completed and signed application form along with all necessary documents listed in the “Documents Checklist” section.
- ⚠️Note: For certain services, personal presence at the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) may still be mandatory, even if applying by post.
- Documents must be sent by registered mail to the correct designated ICAC, in accordance with all photograph specifications, fee instructions, and jurisdiction guidelines.
- You may choose to have your passport returned via courier using the ICAC’s return service—ensure the return address is correctly mentioned.
- All documents must be properly sealed before posting. Incomplete forms or incorrect fees will lead to processing delays.
- Any deficiencies or incomplete submissions will be reflected and updated continuously in the application tracking system on the portal.
- Only one application per package is allowed. Do not include multiple applications in a single postal envelope.
- The return shipping address must exactly match the address proof submitted with your application.

To apply by post, follow these steps carefully:

- Go to https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html
- Select your country of residence, complete the details, and click on “Register”
- Login using the credentials you created
- Select the “Type of Service”
- Fill out the application form and submit it
- After submission, click “Print Application Form” to generate the document containing your Application Reference Number (ARN)
- Transfer the applicable fees (see “Fees Details” section for the exact amount) to the correct Du Digital Global ICAC bank account, based on your city:

Important: When making the bank transfer, only enter your ‘Postal Identifier Number’ or ‘Postal Reference Number’ in the remarks/narration field. This is essential for fast and accurate reconciliation of your payment.
4. While filling the postal application form:
- Include your ARN number
- Mention the Transaction ID of your payment
- Attach all required documents as listed in the checklist
Postal Application Label Instructions
To streamline your postal submission:
- Generate and print your Postal Application Label after filling out your postal form.
- Use A4 or A5 paper for printing and ensure the label is clearly legible
- Affix the label securely on the front of your package
- Ensure the barcode remains visible and undamaged
- Use a reliable courier or postal service to dispatch your package to the ICAC address mentioned on the label
Please Note: Submitting your ARN number and Transaction ID is mandatory for processing. Omitting this may lead to application rejection.
Document Checklist
Ensure the following:
- Submit all documents exactly as mentioned in the “Documents Checklist” section
- Include proof of fee payment
- If applying for an Indian passport and opting for return by post, you must send the original passport
- ⚠️ If an incomplete application remains unresolved for more than 21 days after submission, it will not be processed and will be returned at the applicant’s expense
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What happens if I forget to include a required document?
Once your package is received, an ICAC officer will review it. If any documents are missing or invalid, your application will be marked as incomplete, and you will receive a notification via email. Your application status will be updated as “on hold”. You will be given 21 calendar days to send the missing documents.
Q2: What is the 21-Day Policy for Additional Documents requested by the Embassy/Consulate?
If the Embassy or Consulate requests further documentation, you will be notified and required to submit the additional documents within 21 calendar days. Failing to do so may result in suspension of your application. Please note that fees are non-refundable in such cases.
Q3: What happens if I do not send the missing documents within 21 days?
If the required documents are not received within 21 calendar days, your application will be returned without processing. The Consular and ICWF fees will be refunded after deducting postal charges (if applicable). Any photocopies submitted will be shredded, and you will need to contact Du Digital Global ICAC directly to collect your original documents.
Applicants must ensure that all the following documents are submitted accurately to avoid delays or rejection:
- A printed copy of the duly completed passport application form from <Du digital portal>
👉 The applicant must sign on both the first and last pages of the application form at the designated spaces. - Two recent passport-sized photographs (51mm x 51mm):
- One photograph should be pasted in the specified area on the application form.
- The second photograph should be attached separately to the application.
- Applications with photographs that do not meet the required specifications will be rejected.

- Original Passport of the applicant, along with a self-attested photocopy of the front and last page (containing personal details).
⚠️Submission of the original passport is mandatory. Applications without the original passport will be rejected. - A self-attested copy of a valid Visa or Aufenthaltstitel (residence permit).
- A self-attested copy of proof of current address in South Korea, such as:
- City Registration (Meldebescheinigung / Anmeldung)
- Or a Personal ID (Personalausweis)
- A duly completed and signed Affidavit for name splitting, supported by two public documents that corroborate the name change.

Important Note:
- If additional documents are requested depending on the nature of your application, you will be required to submit those as well.
- Original passports must be submitted when applying for a passport reissue.
