Attestation of PoA / Affidavit
Overview:
Indian nationals residing in South Korea can avail attestation services for various personal legal documents such as Power of Attorney (PoA), individual affidavits, wills, or signature verification, which are to be used for legal, financial, or property-related matters in India. These documents must be attested to establish authenticity and validity for official use.
Types of Documents Attested
- Power of Attorney (PoA) – for property, financial or legal matters in India
- Individual Affidavits – declarations related to name, address, marital status, etc.
Steps to Apply:
- Register yourself on the DU Digital Global Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. <Click here> to register.
- Visit the DU Digital Global ICAC website to schedule your appointment and choose a convenient date and time for your visit. <Click here> to book your appointment.
- Ensure you have your passport, photographs, and prepared PoA/Affidavit/Will as listed in the Documents Checklist section.
- Go to the ICAC center as per the address mentioned in your appointment confirmation.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time.
- Submit your completed application along with the applicable fees.
You can check the fee details under the Fee Details section on the website. - If required, your biometric data will be collected at the ICAC center.
- You’ve successfully submitted your application.
Optional: You can choose the Courier Service to have your certificate delivered to your doorstep.
- The verification process may include interviews or additional clarifications.
- Processing Time: Typically 5–7 working days, depending on document verification.

Documents Checklist for Attestation of Power of Attorney (POA)
- Original Passport along with copies of first, second and last page of passport.
- The contents of POWER OF ATTORNEY / AFFIDAVIT should be printed on plain paper (Not on the Stamp Paper)
- Alien Registration Card along with photocopy.
- Duly prepared Power of Attorney/Affidavit/Will to be attested.
- Photocopy of the document
- Valid Korean Residence Card / Visa copy
- Proof of address in Korea (utility bill / lease agreement)
- Photographs of the applicant (as per requirement – usually 2 passport-size)
- <Application Form> (available at ICAC or downloadable from website)
- Witness signatures (if applicable) – for PoA/Wills; witnesses must also provide valid ID copies
- Self-declaration or covering letter stating the purpose of attestation
- Consular Fee Payment Receipt (payable at ICAC)
